Oppo Find X Review
OPPO has made a name for itself by producing smartphones that cater to budget-conscious consumers. However, the company surprised everyone when it launched the OPPO Find X, a high-end device that competes with the big players in the market. In this review, we will find out if this move was a good one for OPPO.
One of the most striking features of the Find X is its design. Unlike any other OPPO device, it has a 6.4-inch Panoramic Arc Screen that dominates the entire front. The screen and glass curve towards the edges, giving it a sleek and modern look. The top and bottom bezels are slim, and the earpiece and camera are hidden inside the body of the phone.
The Find X has a metallic frame that houses the usual buttons, such as the volume and power/lock keys. At the bottom, there’s a loudspeaker, main microphone, USB Type-C port, and dual nano-SIM card tray. The top houses the secondary microphone.
Overall, the Find X’s design is impressive and unique. It’s a departure from the usual OPPO devices and sets it apart from the competition.
Moving on to the back of the phone, the Find X boasts a glass back with a gradient color available in Bordeaux Red or Glacier Blue. The gradient design catches the eye, and the glass sides that curve towards the edges add a sleek touch. Despite being 9.6mm thick, the tapered sides make it feel thin, and the narrow footprint makes it easy to hold. However, the top part of the back panel by the camera module flexes when pressed, which doesn’t feel premium.
Although the phone’s build quality is generally premium and solid, the Find X has its limitations, as seen in a bend test video. Putting it in jeans pockets isn’t an issue, but the tall frame can be uncomfortable when sitting down.
The physical buttons, including the volume and power/lock keys, are easily reachable as they are placed closer to the middle of the frame. However, navigating the entire screen, especially the top part, might require the help of another hand. Despite the camera module not being flush with the back panel, the gradient design makes it visually appealing.
In conclusion, the OPPO Find X is a stylish phone with a unique design that stands out from other OPPO devices. While it has a premium and solid build, it has its limitations, and the tall frame can be uncomfortable when sitting down. Despite this, the gradient design, sleek curved sides, and physical button placement make it easy to hold and use.
